Further enhancements include innovative technology updates promoting independence, and an abundance of pre-eminent social recreational activities to keep minds sharp and engaged.

Also unique to Baycrest Terraces is the inclusion of smart technology as an integral part of everyday life, with enhancements throughout the residence and in individual suites. For example, incorporating the Amazon Echo Show device into each resident’s suite allows them to streamline phone calls, play music and watch videos. Real-Time Location Services technology and a new emergency call system works throughout the building to protect residents while fostering independence to move freely around campus. Baycrest Terraces’ enhanced Wi-Fi ensures residents are connected to family, friends and news from outside of Baycrest. Tutorials are provided for each resident so they feel empowered, engaged and independent.

I have learned how to use my computer to connect with my family and friends anytime using Zoom from my room,” added Baycrest Terraces resident Connie Price. “When they can’t visit me in-person, we’re able to see each other and chat over video.”
