No. While we celebrate Jewish Holidays at the Terraces, participation is voluntary for all residents, Jewish and non-Jewish.
Terraces apartments have full kitchens with full size stoves and refrigerators. Residents do not have to keep kosher in their apartments. Our communal dining rooms are kosher under COR.
For the present time each resident may now have up to five general visitors and two caregivers for an outdoor visit. In addition, each resident may now have up to two general visitors plus two caregivers for an indoor visit in the resident’s suite. At this time, all visits will be 90 minutes in length. All visits must be scheduled in advance using the Terraces Booking Portal at https://www.baycrestsolutions.com/terracesvisit. Visitors are asked to have the resident’s room number ready and ensure that the resident’s name is spelled correctly.
Residents come and go as they please. However, if a resident is going out overnight, they inform our concierge or health team.
We are unique in that we are the only retirement home that employs Social Workers. They can be helpful in many ways, but especially in terms of supporting residents and families through the transition of moving in, facilitating introductions to like-minded residents, encouraging attendance in programs, helping the residents with concerns and anxieties that come up during the aging process.
